A Better RHNA Methodology
SCAG has recently posted their latest RHNA methodology on their website, which you can see here. But this methodology still encourages sprawl through an increased importance of "local input" as a factor. What would a better RHNA methodology look like? Thanks to our Data & Research Director, Anthony Dedousis, you can see one here. This RHNA methodology shows what distribution could look like without local inputs. Less sprawl. Notice the dramatic difference in methodologies for a jurisdiction like Culver City, which has high job pressure, is on a major rail transit line, and has low-density zoning. The results speak for themselves.
