Hey Friend,
My name is Esteban and I'm the communications manager at AHLA. I'm an LA native; I grew up and have come back home to Walnut Park. My community is largely Latinx and working-class. Many people here know what it feels like to be marginalized and unfairly treated. Our schools and health infrastructure don't compare to those in white-majority, wealthier neighborhoods.
That's why I'm asking you to join AHLA and me on Wednesday to take action for overlooked communities like mine.
Please consider taking a little bit of time out of your Wednesday evening to make calls and help get this big step toward social justice passed. Measure J would bring greater investment in housing, health, and jobs to Black and Brown communities across the county. We mean it when we say it's critical.
