The homeless count released earlier this month shows that the challenge of homelessness in Los Angeles County continues to get worse, with no signs of slowing down— nearly 60,000 Angelenos are homeless, an increase of 50% over the past 8 years. The Los Angeless Homeless Services Authority reports that the County needs 520,000 units of affordable housing, but only 10,000 units are in the pipeline. Abundant Housing LA has developed a set of policies that will rapidly increase our housing stock, fund and create affordable housing, and increase security and protections for renters. Let's demand that our elected officials take action to protect tenants and dramatically accelerate the production of homes at all levels. Let's Bring More Homes to LA! After you contact your local officials, mark your calendar for Housing 101 this Saturday in Culver City!

Events Calendar Westside Community Plan Workshop. Tue 6/18, Sat 6/22, Mon 6/24, Wed 7/10. West LA.  AHLA Housing 101. Sat, 6/22, 12PM, Culver City. Miracle Mile Walking Tour. Sun, 6/23, 10AM, Mid-Wilshire. Thank You & More! Thank you to the 70 individuals who submitted an advocacy letter last week telling our elected officials to not roll back progress on ADUs!  AHLA joined a coalition to support a vacancy tax proposal. The first step in the Vacancy Tax process is for the City to study vacancies and collect data so we can determine if a Vacancy Tax is in fact beneficial. Assuming that this data supports a Vacancy Tax, we will work to make sure the policy is fair, non-discriminatory, and has no unintended other effects on housing. Feel free to provide feedback on this Facebook post.
