Action Item for This Week: More than half of Pasadena's renters are rent burdened— spending at least one-third of their income on rent. We can put a dent in that figure by telling Pasadena's City Council that we support the development of 53 new homes, including 4 very low income units, at 127 North Madison Avenue. The development, in Downtown Pasadena, boasts a Walk Score of 87, a Bike Score of 93, and is only a 14-minute walk from the Lake Station stop on the Metro Gold Line. Let's Build More Homes in Pasadena! After you submit your letter of support, invite a friend to AHLA Housing 101 on Saturday, August 24th, where you and your friends can learn more about LA's housing crisis.

Events Calendar AHLA Housing 101. Aug 24 Sat 12:00 pm - Sat 2:00 pm, Culver City.  Housing 101 is great for new and experienced members who want to deepen their understanding of housing issues, and those who are just interested in seeing what we're about. Luke Klipp, our Education Director with urban and transit policy experience, will lead a presentation and discussion. Thank You & More! The LA City Planning Commission approved two projects you advocated for last week— Montecito II and Firmin Court! Montecito II will add 68 affordable senior homes right next door to the Las Palmas Senior Center in Hollywood. Firmin Court is th a seven-story building in Westlake featuring 45 permanent supportive homes and 19 low-income affordable homes.
